How Many Pages Does the Quran Have?

How Many Pages Does the Quran Have

The Holy Quran is a sacred book revealed by Allah Almighty as complete guidance for all of humanity. People often ask different questions about the Quran, and one common question is: How many pages does the Quran have?

Many people search for this answer, but unfortunately, the answer isn’t the same everywhere. That’s because the Quran is one divine book, but it is printed by various publishers using varied layouts, writing styles, and font sizes, which all affect the total number of pages. Let’s find out how many pages it actually has and what causes these differences.

Different Quran Mushafs and Their Total Page Counts

There are several versions of the Quran known as Mushafs, and each one may have a different number of pages. These are:

1. Madani Mushaf (Mushaf al-Madina)

The Madani Mushaf of the Holy Quran consists of 604 pages, with 16 lines on each page.. This Mushaf is considered the standard Quran copy around the world and is printed in Madina, Saudi Arabia, by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran. This edition is recognized and used globally across mosques, Quran applications, and various online learning platforms. Most Huffaz (memorizers of the Quran) prefer this version because it is very organized.

2. Indo-Pak Mushaf

The Indo-Pak Mushaf of the Holy Quran has around 850-900 pages and 12 to 15 lines per page. It is very popular in South Asian countries like Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. This version usually has more pages than the Madani Mushaf because its writing style is larger and the script is more detailed. This Mushaf is especially loved in South Asia for its clear and

spacious script.

3, Turkish / Egyptian Mushaf

The Turkish Mushaf of the Holy Quran  Mushaf typically contains around 600 to 610 pages, with 15 lines per page, making it similar in layout to the Madani Mushaf but with a few distinct features. It is another popular printed version, especially used in Turkey, the Middle East, and parts of Europe. This version of the Quran often includes color-coded Tajweed rules and detailed verse separation symbols, making it easier for readers to follow and recite properly.

Number of Pages in Each Juz(Para)?

The standard Quran Mushaf usually has 604 pages divided into 30 Juz (Paras). On average, each Juz contains about 20 pages.

This means that if a person reads 20 pages of the Quran daily, they can complete the entire Quran in one month.

Why the Quran Has Different Page Counts in Various Editions?

The number of pages in the Quran can differ from one printed copy to another. This is because:

1. Different Publishers and Countries

The Quran is printed and published all over the world — in countries like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, and Indonesia. Each country has its own publishers and printing styles, which may differ in font type, paper size, and page layout.
Because of these differences, the number of pages in the Quran can vary from one printed version to another.

2. Different Font Style and Size

Another reason for the difference in the number of pages is the font style and size used in printing. Some fonts take up more space, while others take less.
Many publishers use larger fonts to make the Quran easier to read, especially for beginners or older readers. Others use smaller fonts so that more words can fit on one page. These variations in font size and style directly affect the total number of pages in each printed Quran.

3. Lines Per Page

As we discussed earlier, different Mushafs have different numbers of lines on each page, which also affects the total number of pages. For example, some Mushafs have 15 lines per page, while others may have 13 or 17 lines.

Because of this variation, the overall page count changes from one Mushaf to another. So, the number of lines per page is also one of the main reasons why different Qurans have different total pages.

Conclusion

From this discussion, we understand that the total number of pages in the Quran may differ from one publication or country to another. However, among all versions, the Madani Mushaf is considered the most standard and widely recognized format, consisting of 604 pages. It is this version that is used across the world — in mosques, Quran apps, and online learning platforms.

Regardless of how many pages each copy contains, the message of the Quran remains unchanged — a timeless message of guidance, mercy, and divine wisdom from Allah Almighty. Every Muslim should make it a daily habit to recite the Quran, reflect deeply on its meanings, and strive to live by its teachings, bringing its light into every aspect of life. May Allah guide us all to recite, understand, and live according to His Holy Book — the Quran. Ameen.
